Default Professions viable in endgame?

Hi,
So I'm wondering are there any other professions than Sins that are viable for doing most zones in a speedclear? I was hoping maybe Mesmer/necro/ranger as I'm not too keen on running a Sin through all the campaigns swell as my main as I'm starting on a new fresh account, thanks.

Depends which speedclear. Most professions have a few speedclears they can do but you're really better off having a selection of characters ready.

Rit Mesmer Monk Necro would probably be the most common

it depends entirely on which areas you are interested in, but as a guide
FoW - dervish, necro, ritualist, monk
UW - ritualist, ele, ranger
DoA - mesmer, monk, ele

In general (especially in uw/fow) an assassin is a very useful thing to have, but it is still possible to do most roles in these areas without one. Another thing to consider is that often the assassin roles are the more difficult ones so if you are starting out SCing, you may want to start with the easier caster roles, and in time you may decide to make an assassin.

Thanks again for the speedy reply. Think i'll go with Mesmer as my main (hopefully they are announced in GW2 if i like it) and get a necro and Sin up aswell, i used to do the 7Sin+Necro Speedclear in UW maybe a year or two ago, it very different now?

it is very different now yes, where an average pug used to be ~20 minutes they are now ~1 hour. The new builds can be found here. If you are interested in starting UW again i would highly recommend seeking a dedicated UW guild, because pug groups are hardly worth joining.
